Owls 2016-17

Owls Class Blog 3.02.17

This week we have been thinking about different types of instruction writing.

‘You need a list at the beginning so you know what you will need.’ Abigail.

‘We need to follow instructions in order. We can use numbers.’ Mia  ‘Or we can use time connectives, like first, second, then, next.’ Rhyley

‘We can use bullet points.’ Isobel

Jack knows that the correct name for ‘bossy words’ in instructions is ‘imperative verbs.’

We wrote our own set of instructions.

‘I wrote about making a toy owl.’ Erin

In Maths we have been dividing numbers.

‘We can sort objects into groups.’ Isobel

‘When we halve we share by 2.’ Ellie-Mai

Also this week;

‘We have been practising for our class assembly next week.’ Lucy

Pixie’s favourite challenge was to look at sets of instructions and find all the imperative verbs that were used.

Elsie’s favourite challenge was drawing a picture of ‘DragonWorld.’ An idea we got from looking at a picture on http://www.pobble365.com/dragonworld/

Alfie has been working hard on his joined up writing, both in school and at home.
