Owls 2016-17

14th October 2016

Can you believe that we are nearly at the end of term already? We have been having so much fun that time has gone so quickly.

This week we have been looking at money. Codey has been able to make totals using different coins and Ruby has liked using real coins to sort and count totals.

We have been reading a poem called, ‘If I was a Superhero’ and then we have worked in our groups to write our own poem with the same title. Lucy enjoyed thinking of some rhyming words to go with our superpowers.

image007Chloe has made a special pair of Superhero…………………..pants! This is because we have read a book called, ‘Charlie’s Superhero Underpants.’ Harry C said, ‘In the story Charlie has to go around the world looking for his underpants,’ and Charlie S told us, ‘A yeti is wearing them at the end.’

We all had a fantastic morning at the Junior School on Wednesday as part of their Science Week. Elsie really enjoyed making a house out of gingerbread and sweets like the house in Hansel and Gretel. Harry T liked doing some experiments on cookies. ‘We put vinegar, milk, oil and water on top of cookies to see what would happen. The milk made the cookie crack and look like it had lumps on it.’

More photographs can be seen on the Junior School’s website. http://www.southwoottonjun.co.uk/event-gallery/

Don’t forget that next Friday, 21st October, is our ‘Superheroes’ day. We can all come to school dressed as a Superhero, hopefully wearing some of the lovely accessories you have made as part of your Home Learning.
We are looking forward to completing our topic with a Reading Café in the afternoon. It would be lovely to see many of you there.
