Class 1 – Dragonflies 2014-15

Dragonflies Class blog – Friday 13th February

We have all worked hard this week and have enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year.

“I liked learning the new sounds, ear, air and ure,” said Owen who also did very well in his phonics assessment.

“I liked dancing as a Chinese dragon with my friends,” said Chloe.

“I made a Chinese dragon puppet,” said Robyn.

Thomas enjoyed wearing the Chinese costumes because they were really colourful.

Taylor liked playing the drum to accompany the Chinese dancing.

Millie said, “We tried noodles – they were yummy. “

At the end of the week, we celebrated the end of our Frozen Planet topic with a whole school cinema screening of the film Frozen. – A fabulous finish

“I enjoyed learning how to make a pop corn cone” said Isabella

Ava said, “I liked dressing up as a Frozen character.”

We had another dragonfly on gold. Thomas knows almost all his phase 3 sounds – brilliant.

Also Nell was the Reception year group winner of our poetry competition and had her prize presented by Mr Rice, the head of the Junior School. Well done Nell.

Have a lovely half term and see you all on 23rd February.
