Class 3 – Caterpillars 2014-15

Caterpillars Class Blog 30.1.15

This week we have been writing facts about penguins using bullet points. We have also written captions about some penguin pictures. We are now penguin experts!

We have been measuring in our Maths work. Looking at things that were a metre tall and those that were taller or shorter than a metre. At the beginning of the week we ordered ourselves from tallest to shortest in our groups.

Today we ordered ourselves to see who was the tallest in the class and who was the shortest. Alfie Ch is the tallest and Kara is the shortest.

We have looked at the work of a Canadian artist called Ted Harrison. He used lots of bright colours in his work and was inspired by the land and the people of the Yukon.

Abi says she likes the colours he uses. Lennon likes that his work is neat. Poppy likes the animal images he paints on his landscapes. Oscar B liked listening to some quiet music while he created his own work.

Finally, we have been using all our milk bottles to build an igloo inside our classroom. As you can see it is coming along nicely but we still need more milk bottles please!! The igloo will be part of our Reading Café on Wednesday so we hope to see lots of you there.
