Owls Class Blog 29.03.18

Another term has come to an end and we are much closer to moving into Year 2 now!

This week we had a special visitor in school on Monday who taught us how to play the African Drum.

‘It is called a Djembe.’ George

‘I liked playing an African Drum and learning a song.’ Wesley

We have also been learning about how new life is celebrated in different religions. Cannon Nash and Reverend Dan taught us all about Baptism in the Christian Church.

‘We went to the Church on Tuesday. I was the daddy when we had a Baptism.’ Jenson

‘We have also been learning about Muslim babies.’ Caleb C

‘The daddy whispers ‘God is Great’ into the baby’s ear when it is born.‘ Tommy

‘The first thing the baby should taste is a date. This is rubbed along the baby’s gums.’ Eshal

‘The baby has their head shaved in 7 days.’ Mabel

Today was a sad day as we said Goodbye to two of our members of staff.

‘We had a special assembly to say goodbye to Miss Claxton and Miss Riddington.’ Emma

‘We had to help them make waterproof dens in a ‘den off’.’ Mabel and George

‘Today we made an Easter chick.’ Finley

‘We really enjoyed going on an Easter Egg hunt. ‘Tommy

Thank you to our PTFA for organising it for us!
