Hedgehogs 2016-17

Hedgehogs Class Blog – 13.1.17

This week our dragon hatched out of the egg! We named our dragon Jewel and we made him a diary so that we could all have a turn to take him home and record all the things we do with him.

Jewel looks like this but he is purple with shimmery wings.

This week Jewel has been home with Miss Brice, Amber, Albie and Isabel. He has been shopping, eaten cake, doughnuts and fruit and he has met our families. He really enjoys having a story read to him.

We have read ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ in English and we made some actions to tell the story.

In Maths we have been doubling numbers and learning to read and write numbers in words.

History is learning about the past. This week we have been finding out about castles and making castles from clay, Lego, Duplo and wooden building blocks.

“In the olden days the castles were made of wood so it was so easy for baddies to get through.” Finley

“In the olden days there were windows to shoot arrows from called arrow slits.” Mehdi

“Some castles have drawbridges.” Thomas

“Some castles are protected by water called a moat.” Kara-Mae

“Castles took a long time to build.” Christopher

“We looked at some pictures of castles. Some of them were different and some of them were the same.” Charlie.H.

“Today it snowed and it became ice.” Amber

We all had fun playing in the snow but it turned to ice and we were all freezing!
