Class 1 – Dragonflies 2015-16

Dragonflies’ Class Blog Week ending 22/4/16

WOW! What a week of amazing learning!

This week we have been thinking about the story of ‘The snail and the whale’ by Julia Donaldson. The snail left his slime ALL over our classroom! The poor whale in the story was like the one in Hunstanton. “We need to collect the litter so he doesn’t eat it in his tummy!” Charlie C suggested!

The children chose to create posters to tell everybody not to drop litter as it is bad for the world and the animals.

Elsie and Olivia, along with lots of others, have been getting creative this week. They made beautiful snails to decorate the classroom with- using lots of glitter as it is Miss Riddington’s favourite!

“We played a game out in the sunshine using our imagination!” Alfie told us.

Lots of children have been challenging themselves this week which has meant fantastic learning has been going on. Lenny and Alfie even went on silver for their fantastic animal book with beautifully written sentences inside it.

Rubilyn has been telling us all about dragonflies and ants this week. By using information books we have been able to label a dragonfly and find out facts about it too!

Jayden, along with lots of others have been doing some minibeast baking at home too! We love looking at the photos from home on Tapestry!

Isobel also bought some caterpillars in to show us. Real life caterpillars! So we are still extremely excited about our topic all about bugs.

Another excellent week with wonderful learning… I wonder what we will learn next week…!?
