Class 3 – Caterpillars 2015-16

Caterpillars Class Blog 26.02.16

We had a very exciting start to our new topic this week.

‘On Monday we went to all the classes with our passport that we made. We went to different islands.’ Thomas

‘I enjoyed making pizza with Mrs Chimes.’ Caleb

‘I enjoyed making ferns with Mrs Hayes when we were learning about New Zealand.’ Phoebe

‘With Miss Riddington we had to pick a picture out of a hat and then we had to act out that picture. I liked being a lemur.’ Chloe

We read a story called ‘Grandad’s Island.’ Sid and his Grandad went to visit a tropical island. We wrote poems about being on a tropical island. We had to use our senses and think about what we could see, hear, smell, taste and touch.

Albie really enjoyed the story and wrote his own one at home.

‘We made lots and lots of vine paper chains to decorate our cloakroom.’ Luke

Yesterday we took part in some Road Safety training.

‘You must not stand too close to the road.’ Laney

‘Don’t run across the road in case you trip over and fall.’ Nell

‘We learnt that a dropped kerb is low so that cars can drive over them. A dropped kerb is right next to our school so all the teachers can get into the car park.’ Luke

‘The kerb is the edge of the pavement.’ Harry

We have had a new wall apparatus fitted this week for us to use in PE lessons. We couldn’t wait to get on it!

We are really looking forward to World Book Day next week and dressing up as Wild Things!
