Class 3 – Caterpillars 2015-16

Caterpillars Class Blog 25.9.15

This week we decided to look at 2 colours that are not in the Rainbow – black and white.

We began by thinking about night and day and the animals that are about during the different times of the day. Chloe told us all that animals that come out at night time are called ‘nocturnal animals.’

and retold it in 3 different ways. Firstly, making the characters from playdough, then drawing a story ‘S’ and retelling it through our own pictures and lastly, writing the story in sentences. Mrs Burt was really pleased with everyone’s retellings and was particularly impressed with Flynn and Luke’s writing. She gave them SILVER!

In Maths we have been thinking about the passing of time and telling the time to the hour on an analogue clock. We know the days of the week and the months of the year and have thought about the activities we do during the day and putting them in chronological order.

We have found out about different light sources and have drawn a self portrait and an owl portrait using only black and white.

Congratulations to Flynn and Olivia who have been voted as our first Class Representatives of the Student Council this year. A big well done to all those who made posters and also stood. We will vote again after Christmas and Easter so please don’t give up!

Finally this week, we have all brought home a personal invitation to our Macmillan coffee afternoon next Friday from 2pm – 4pm. Please join us and help to raise money for this very worthwhile cause.
