Class 3 – Caterpillars 2015-16

Caterpillars Class Blog 18.9.15

image001This week we have been reading lots of stories about Elmer, the Patchwork Elephant.

Caleb liked ‘Elmer in the snow’ because they all throw snowballs at each other.

image003Chester liked the part in ‘Elmer and the Rainbow’ where the monkey was on an elephant’s back.

Charlotte liked the idea of seeing a patchwork rainbow.

Zac enjoyed ‘Elmer and the Rainbow’ when Elmer hid behind the waterfall and gave away his colours to make the rainbow shine again.

In Maths, we made our own patterned elephants using 2D shapes and arranging them in repeated patterns.

We have also been adding 2 numbers together and finding an answer by using our fingers or counting out cubes.

Huge congratulations to Taylor for achieving the first GOLD of the year in Caterpillars!! He independently completed some outstanding writing about the story ‘Elmer and the Rainbow.’ Well done Taylor.

Maybe we will see another GOLD next week……….
