Class 2 – Bumble Bees 2014-15

Week 1 – Bumble Bee Class

This week we have been reading Jack and the beanstalk. We made puppets of the characters and retold the story. We pretended to be Jack and wrote letters to the Giant saying sorry for stealing his hen and his harp. We also read Jim and the beanstalk and compared the stories. We planted beans and are looking forward to them growing.

In Maths we have been counting in 2s and 10s. We have been learning one more and two more. In the Numeracy area we have been measuring flowers and plants using cubes.

In the creative area we have been making flowers. We turned the roleplay area into a garden centre where we can buy plants.

This week Miss Brice introduced dough disco Dough disco is a daily activity which combines the use of pieces of dough and music with a series of hand and finger exercises. These strengthen and develop children’s fine and gross motor dexterity, hand-eye co-ordination, proprioception, balance, low load control, grip and most importantly, their self-esteem! We loved it!

We went outside for PE and we were focusing on balancing bean bags. At the end we had a race!
