Class 3 – Caterpillars 2014-15

Caterpillars Blog 24.4.15

We have read ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’ by Vivian French this week and have made a display in the hall. On Monday we looked at all the different vegetables from the book and used adjectives to describe them.

Lilly described Carrots as being ‘hard and crunchy.’

Later in the week we wrote our own story in a booklet about our own fruit salad based using the same idea as Oliver’s Vegetables.

In maths we have been measuring in centimetres and have accurately drawn and measured some paper flowers/plants.

We have also been growing our own cress this week. We all made a cress sheep and gave it a name and are having a race to see whose will grow the quickest. At the moment Louie’s sheep is in the lead but we have noticed that the sheep in full sunlight are not growing as fast as the sheep away from the window. Why is this?

Next week we will be focusing on other living things in our gardens – Minibeasts. If you have any books, pictures etc you wish to share with the class about Minibeasts then please feel free to bring them in.
