Class 3 – Caterpillars 2014-15

Caterpillars Blog 23.1.15

This week we spent the day at the Sea Life Centre on Monday. Max enjoyed playing on the Pirate Ship. Will enjoyed having his lunch in the school room. Oscar J enjoyed watching the penguins being fed. Florence enjoyed finding the answers for the Dive Adventure Quiz Trail and getting a medal at the end of it. Ellie enjoyed watching the seals being fed, especially when one jumped out of the water to get its fish. We had a really lovely day and a big thank you to Mrs Chaplin, Mrs Gallon and Mrs Birks for coming along with us too.

Also this week we have been talking about our families and how they are all different. Miss Hayes invited her sister and her baby to come and talk to us about how their family has changed with the arrival of baby Florence.

In maths we have been telling the time to o’clock and half past (sometimes quarter past) and have been ordering events in our day.

With Miss Claxton we have been doing the RSPB Big School Watchout. We counted pigeons, blackbirds, blue-tits, herring-gulls and made pictograms outside to show our results. Blue group saw a flock of geese fly over our school, they counted 43!!!

Just to remind you that this weekend is the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch too. If you would like to be involved go to www.rspb.org.uk and follow the instructions to register.

Finally this week we have achieved another GOLD as Sophia moved into the outstanding zone. She has been working so hard with her tasks in class and is really concentrating well. She has also been practising her handwriting at home and in school and is now able to write sentences without the help of an adult. Fantastic work Sophia!
