Homework : Practice the Jolly Phonics letter sounds that we have learnt this week – u,r. Sing the songs and go on a treasure hunt to find objects beginning with the letter sound.

Learning Objectives : 24.11.14

This week we will be:

  • Learning about birthday celebrations
  • Baking some cupcakes
  • Solving problems involving addition
  • Using our phonic knowledge to write words and short phrases
  • Welcoming family members to our reading café.

This week we had our first school trip to Tesco. As part of the Farm to Fork project we learnt about the colours and tastes of different fruit and vegetables. Charlotte enjoyed “choosing strawberries and apples and putting them in basket”. Harry liked “eating them”. Brody liked eating the lemon. He thought it was “sweet” but Nell thought it was “sour”.

Thomas liked being “really cold in the freezer” and Jack remembered “waddling like a penguin”.

This week we have had an important visitor. The mayor came to open our outside area. Look out for photos on the website soon!

We have been busy pretending to make cakes in the home corner and next week we plan to make real cakes and have a party! If anyone has any old disco clothes or music etc to donate that would be much appreciated.
