Class 1 – Dragonflies 2014-15

Dragonflies 9th October 2014

This week we have continued to read Julia Donaldson books and the children chose to have A Squash and a Squeeze as our focus book. Millie said “I liked singing the song” and Laney, Nell, Jack and Isabella put in particularly good performances to demonstrate to the rest of the class.

We have also been practising our songs for the harvest festivals and there have been several sing-alongs around the CD player this week.

Owen said he enjoyed learning the new sounds, particularly ‘s’ as “I got to put a snake in the silly soup”. Phoebe said she liked making the house from a Squash and a Squeeze in the workshop.

Robyn liked “doing colour mixing on the plates” when we tried to match the colours of the autumn leaves.

Olivia also enjoyed painting, practising writing ‘s’.

At the end of last week we also celebrated as our first two children moved to the gold outstanding learning zone. Well done to Olivia and Thomas who put in a superb performance in P.E.
