image007We had a letter from the zoo today to say thank you for looking after their box last week. We now know that the animal inside was……….a baby snow leopard! Lola said that maybe the animal was making the funny noises because it wanted to go home.

This week our literacy work has been all about the book Dear Zoo. We have been in the forest area and made shelters for the animals in the zoo enclosures or crates to move the animals. We have story mapped the book so we could retell it using pictures and we have used drama techniques to retell the story too.

In Maths we have been practicing our adding up. We counted 2 groups of camels and added them together and we used animal cards to record number sentences.

image009We have also thought about where animals live in the world. George knew that some animals live in hot countries like lions, tigers, giraffes and elephants and Kara knew that some animals live in cold countries like polar bears, snow leopards, seals and artic foxes.

At the beginning of the week we tested our sense of taste and smell by testing different flavoured crisps and smelling pots with different things in them. Wesley’s favourite flavour of crisps was cheese and onion.
